PsychTruths

About Ainna Ross

I hold a B.Sc. in Applied Psychology from IMCG, completed in 2012, and am an established writer on Medium and a survivor of narcissistic abuse myself.

Through evidence-informed education, psychological research, and lived experience, I write about narcissistic abuse, manipulation, trauma bonds, relationships, and healing—helping readers better understand what they may be experiencing and take steps toward healthier, more fulfilling lives.

If something I write here helps even one person leave earlier, heal faster, or understand themselves more deeply, then it’s doing what it was meant to do.

What I write about

PsychTruths focuses on:

  • Narcissism and narcissistic abuse
  • Emotional manipulation and gaslighting
  • Trauma bonds and toxic relationship patterns
  • Mental health awareness
  • Healing, recovery, and self-growth after psychological harm

The goal is always the same: take research and clinical concepts and make them usable, so you can recognize what’s happening to you or someone you care about, and know what to do next.

How this content is made

Every article is researched using published psychological literature, established clinical concepts, and reputable educational sources, then filtered through what I actually lived through over 10 years in an abusive dynamic. I write from a BSc-level academic grounding in psychology, not as a licensed therapist or clinician, and I’m upfront about that: this site is educational and reflective, not a substitute for professional care.

Content is reviewed periodically and updated as understanding evolves. If you ever spot something that needs correcting, I want to hear about it; see the contact section below.

Important disclaimer

PsychTruths is intended for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing here is medical, psychological, legal, or professional advice, and reading this site is not a substitute for working with a licensed therapist, counselor, or doctor.

If you’re dealing with significant emotional distress, mental health concerns, or an unsafe relationship, please reach out to a qualified professional; or, if you’re in crisis, a crisis line in your country.
